Re: Helo Extraction
Notes:
An iconic, famous scene from Predator shows Da Governator in his early film career
"Get to the choppa" means hurrying for military extraction like your life depends on it
Is that so different than a typical morning commute where you literally can't be late..?
Yes it is different than a typical morning commute which usually has a bit of padding
Helo Extraction Schedule || Zero [0] Clearance for Delay
The Entire Cultural History of our village
Hangs in the balance of your 40/40 laps - Hurry!
YOU have ZERO [0] clearance for delay
That's how I want that to be how you feel about getting your 30/30 or your 40/40 laps
Not to stress or hurt yourself just.. to give yourself artificial external motivation
Swimming laps every day can be tiring and it can be boring and grating too
Keeping count alone is a task that I can barely manage and that's the truth
It's fun for me to offer myself these quirky command line items
Try it out, it's fun but I'm already that type of person
If you don't like power motivation please skip it
For something softer, here's MoneyPenny -
Alpha/Bravo - Don't be late - OUT
MoneyPenny: The choppa isn't going to get to itself plus don't keep me waiting - I'm already - waiting
What lap was I on again?
It's easy to remember
If I do it in fives
First lap is using a kickboard
Second Lap is an honest lap
Third Lap is half Lazy River
Fourth Lap is an honest lap
First Lap is half Lazy River
Every fifth lap is using the kickboard
After that you have two pairs of honest-then-Lazy
You will obviously look forward to your resting laps
If you use the lap to determine your speed, you can't forget
Forgetting is surprisingly demotivating
What lap what I on again?
If you are on kickboard - it's #1 out of that five-set
If you are on an honest down-and-back - it's either #2 or #4
If you are on a self-sanctioned Lazy River - it's either #3 or #5
You're constantly switching from one to the next
If you lose count you'll start lying to yourself
What lap was I on? This is so boring..
That's how you cut corners
Believe me I've been there
Lesson Summary
Keeping count of laps is crucial for stamina and workout effectiveness. The "pattern of fives" system is recommended to aid in keeping track of laps:
- Swimming laps regularly can be tiring and monotonous.
- Using the "pattern of fives" system helps maintain focus and motivation.
- Here's a breakdown of the system:
- First lap with a kickboard.
- Second lap, an honest lap.
- Third lap is half Lazy River.
- Fourth lap, another honest lap.
- Fifth lap is half Lazy River.
- Every fifth lap thereafter is with a kickboard.
- Alternate between honest laps and Lazy River laps.
By following this system, you can easily keep track of your laps and maintain motivation during your swim sessions. Remember, forgetting your lap count can be demotivating and lead to cutting corners in your workout routine.
